Yesterday, I wore Pink.

However, I need to be real with you...

I am a white, middle-class male in America. And there's nothing I can do to change that...

I'll likely never fully understand racism like some, never completely experience the very pain, hurt and fear a great deal of our world has felt/is feeling, or experience the full negativity of inequality... and I'll never claim to.

Today I'm speaking for anyone else like me... those who find themselves in the category - "White, middle-class male" and have a heart to help, but don't know how.

Women, LGBTQ+, minorities (and all those oppressed...) I love you. I support you. I believe in equality for you. And I pray for that day to come... but I need YOUR help. Please hear me out.

I (and I would venture to say man young men like me) want so badly to stand with you, to take more action than my simple (yet still meaningful - I still believe small acts make large differences) daily respect and love and to be a part of this movement... Because of the privilege I have, I want to fight for and with you. But so often... I don't know how.

I feel scared speaking out for a cause that I've never experienced myself. I worry what I say will come off wrong. I question where to even start.

So PLEASE, challenge me, call me out in grace and patience and INVITE me to stand by your sides in this. I ask this for me and anyone like me. Show me what I can do. Use me in this mission for equality. And let me join you. Because I believe in you. Because I love you.

Sincerely, a white, middle-class male who stands for equality.
